Windhoek public library consists of 2 main sections, children and adult sections. Both sections are divided into 3 collections, the Reference collection, Fiction and Non-fiction collections. Both collections provide users with materials of different format, prints and audios.

Registered users/ members are entitled to borrow out a maximum of 3 books or any other information materials other than Reference materials for a period of 2 weeks. Users are always welcome to renew their borrow out period in case they are not done reading the material after its due time. A late fee is charged on materials that are returned later than the due date.

Other services provided

There is a computer lab for adult users.The lab provides services to users such as: computer literacy training, typing, printing and access to internet, other IT services provided are photocopying.

Children section consists of computers  with educational programs and learning the basics on how to use and operate a computer.

Other areas like study area offer an open, conducive and quiet environment for students and scholars to study and do research freely. While the business area users can sit and discuss their business issues and also have access to different daily newspapers and magazines.    

Users are always welcome for inquiries  on information or information sources/ resources at the issue desk.
